Snell Manufacturing congratulates Tina Saylor as winner of the 2023 Person of the Year Award. The Person of the Year award is the highest award in the Snell Select program which is granted to a single winner from all Snell Manufacturing companies.
Tina Saylor is the Small Press Department Supervisor for American Tool and Die in Swansea, SC. In 2023, Tina celebrated 37 years with American Tool and Die. She is lovingly nicknamed “007” for holding that number as her employee ID in a company now past ID number 850. Tina was a Person of the Year candidate in 2022 where she received multiple High 5 awards and served on the inaugural Fun Committee.
In 2023 Tina was given the option to step down from the Fun Committee, but instead stayed on with the new team in an advisory and assistance role for more than six months. It is this devotion to the Fun Committee, Snell Select mission of recognizing excellence of coworkers, and extra mile service which earned Tina her nomination from Natalie Beerman of Snell Ventures who worked as the corporate facilitator of the American Tool and Die Fun Committee. Natalie wrote:
Tina worked with our new Fun Committee, taking extra time in her service to ensure a good transition, helping them while I was out on maternity leave as well, so that ATD as a whole would be well served. That is selflessness (People First) and vision (Long-Term Oriented) at its finest!
Snell Select Program
The Snell Select program offers each company’s employees the chance to nominate a coworker for exemplifying one of the five Core Values pillars: People First, Customer Focused, Community Minded, Environmentally Friendly, and Long-Term Oriented. Entering its second year the recognition program expanded to include additional locations into the program making the 2023 competition even steeper.
The Snell Select program begins with location specific monthly pillar winners selected by the location’s Fun Committee from multiple nominees. These monthly company winners are voted on by intercompany Fun Committee representatives for quarterly President’s Circle winners for each pillar. Finally, all of 2023’s President Circle winners were considered, and the intercompany representatives voted on a single Person of the Year winner. In the 2023 Snell Select program there were 445 High 5 nominations, 145 High 5 winners, 20 President Circle winners and Tina
Saylor as the landslide winner of Person of the Year. Tina was announced at the American Tool and Die Christmas party.
