Sales & Customer Service

New Deal Trailer Parts is seeking an individual to join our organization. This individual will hold a hybrid role – supporting Customer Service in the front office, and driving Sales to new and existing customers.

You will support the front office team in a variety of ways related to customers, including answering the phones, serving customers needs directly, taking and inputting orders into our system, communicating with customers regarding pricing and delivery, and coordinating shipping and receiving as needed to support the office team. You may also help with items such as inventory, daily/weekly/monthly reporting, and troubleshooting.

You will get to know our customers and their needs, and look for opportunities to sell them new products. Additionally, you will prospect nationally, helping to sell our products into a variety of markets and industries, primarily targeting trailer manufacturers and OEM’s.

You will be a service and product specialist, helping to generate valuable deals through strategic business development and by supporting the sales cycle from pre-sales through to completion. This is an outstanding career option for a young professional looking to further their career.

Role Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of relevant experience in customer service or business development role in North America region.
  • Local to Middle TN (or willing to relocate).
  • Excellent communication skills – written, verbal and client-facing presentation skills.

  • Effective and experienced in communicating value to all buying influences, positioning solutions, differentiating from competitors and creating and using sales tools to help win deals.

Role Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls and emails to support customer service functions in the front office.
  • Prepare customer orders, from quoting to inputting orders into the system.
  • Support the front office team in a variety of ways, including but not limited to, administrative work, filing, mail, generating reports, etc.
  • Proactively identify and chase new customer leads.
  • Build close partnerships with customers and help their business grow by developing and delivering the best solutions to their needs.
  • Be responsible for signing new business opportunities and lead generation.
  • Have an involvement in the proposal process by developing and pitching proposals.
  • Negotiate Commercial Terms of business.
  • Search, source, and screen potential customers, utilizing multiple online resources.
  • Develop and execute marketing strategies to support sales initiatives, including social media, linkedin, and website.
  • Develop a solid pipeline of new business opportunities by identifying key decision-makers in target organizations.
  • Balance both tactical and strategic initiatives successfully.
  • Play a key role in relationship building with both potential and current clients.
  • Attend trade shows, conferences and other industry-related events as required.

Welder and Fabricator

  • This is an hourly position that is eligible for overtime pay

Role Summary

New Deal Tool & Die is a metal stamping and fabrication company producing parts for the utility trailer industry based in Portland, TN.

We are looking for individuals with MIG welding experience. PT or FT work available. Flexible pay and benefits available during compensation negotiations.

Pay frequency: Weekly

This job is open to applicants who do not have a college diploma.

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

Role Qualifications

  • MIG Welding: 1-5 years (preferred)
  • A natural inclination to work hard, encourage others, and create quality products

  • Maintain plant policies and procedures
  • Capable of operating material handling equipment, such as fork lifts

  • Regularly Inspect Finished Product – Welder and Fabricators are partly quality control workers. They periodically inspect the products produced to ensure they meet the specifications outlined by the floor supervisor and the prototype example parts provided.
  • Adhere to All Safety Standards and Regulations – This is a role that requires workers to be sticklers for safety. Welder/Fabricators have to follow all safety rules at all times, which includes regular equipment maintenance and keeping a clean work area.

Press Operator

Role Summary

New Deal Tool & Die is a metal stamping and fabrication company producing parts for the utility trailer industry based in Portland, TN.

Press operators run stamping machines that cut and shape metal into component parts, typically those which are sold to trailer manufacturers. Press operators spend most of their shift on their feet, operating their machine on the factory floor. Though they work in close proximity to other machine operators, the work itself is solitary. It requires the ability to stay focused for long periods.

All press operators start at the entry level. They work under the direction of the Floor Supervisor. A press operator that shows aptitude can move into a leadership role training and mentoring new press operators.

Pay frequency: Weekly

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm

  • 3-5 years on a production floor, background working with stamping machinery, tooling/dies

  • Welding capabilities encouraged, but not required

Role Responsibilities

  • Monitor Machines for Irregularities – Good press operators can hear and see slight irregularities in their machine, which may indicate a mechanical issue. When an irregularity is noticed, the press operator should pause operations right away and find the floor supervisor.
  • Regularly Inspect Finished Product – Press operators are partly quality control workers. They periodically inspect the products produced by pressing machines to ensure they meet the specifications outlined by the floor supervisor and the prototype example parts provided to the press operator.
  • Troubleshoot Machine Malfunctions and Complete Minor Repairs – Press operators have to understand the mechanics of pressing machines to figure out why a malfunction has occurred. When an issue presents itself, find the floor supervisor and discuss the issue with them. Based on the press operators level of experience – If the issue is minor, they will be directed to fix it themselves; if it’s a major issue they hand over the situation to a decision maker.
  • Adhere to All Safety Standards and Regulations – This is a role that requires workers to be sticklers for safety. Press operators have to follow all safety rules at all times, which includes regular machine maintenance and keeping a clean work area.

Freehand Machinist

Role Summary

QUAD Industries, a 111-year old metal bearing manufacturer, is looking for a skilled Machinist to operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks. You will produce precision metal parts using both manual and automated equipment and accurate measurements.

Traditional General Machining skills are required, including Boring, Turing, Drilling and Milling. Manual Lathes and Milling machines are regularly used.

A great machinist needs to possess manual dexterity and an eye for detail. They must also have knowledge of mathematics and mechanics as well as respect for safety precautions.

The goal is to ensure the accurate production of high quality metal bearings in a safe environment.

Pay frequency: Weekly

This job is open to applicants who do not have a college diploma.

Schedule: 10 hours a day, 4 days a week, first shift only

Role Qualifications

  • Proven experience as machinist
  • Experience in using manual or semi-automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.)
  • Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • Knowledge of the properties of metal and other material
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics and manuals
  • Good at math with analytical abilities
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items
  • Completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset

Role Responsibilities

  • Review samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of output
  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a job
  • Take measurements and mark material for cutting or shaping
  • Select appropriate machines (e.g. lathes) and position or load material for a job
  • Determine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.
  • Monitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issues
  • Check output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defects
  • Keep records of approved and defective units or final products
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages
